What’s Your Confession?

This afternoon I was writing a note to a friend to encourage her as she goes into the week bracing herself for a very serious medical procedure.  As I wrote to her, I was actually encouraging myself!  I’ve taken what I wrote to her and expounded on it here.  If you are facing some tough situations at this time, I pray this helps you.  I hope you will pass this on to someone you know who could you use the encouragement.
Stand on the Word
You are going to have to push, press, and persevere… reprogram your mind so that it aligns with your spirit.  Your mind/will/emotions – your soul –  will take you on a roller coaster ride that will terrorize you to no end IF you let it!  Your words have much power. Don’t sabotage the miracles by giving place to fear and anxiety.  Not saying don’t be real, but don’t let “real” and what you feel take over.  Acknowledge where you are but continue to declare what you want to see happen, what you expect to happen, and what the Word says will happen.  Be like David… He remembered the lion and the bear, straightened up, stood tall, and took down a giant that nobody in the army of Israel even attempted to face.  The craziness of it all made it abundantly clear that it was God’s doing that he was victorious.  He didn’t try to take credit before of after.  We must take heed and do the same when we face these monumental challenges.
Speak Life1
We have the opportunity to thank and praise God for the victory before we even enter the full force of the battle.  We have the opportunity to remind ourselves of what He’s already done as we steady ourselves to expect and to see the victory in the current situation. We have a choice. Worrying about it and speaking the wrong words give the enemy license to do whatever he desires. We have to be armed with the Word, fight with the Word, and depend only on the Word to get us out safely shouting the victory.

Other situations will arise but they are mere distractions to pull you off your post and to get you to begin to see, itemize, and verbalize all of the things that are going wrong, that aren’t right, that are messing with your plans.  None of this is a surprise to God… and you should acknowledge that to Him.  “God, this is really a jacked up situation, but you already knew I’d be here dealing with all of this stuff.  I know you love me and want the best for me.  So I’m not going to allow the enemy to cause discouragement, despair, and depression to set up camp in my mind. I shake it off, in the Name of Jesus, and I choose to count it all joy knowing that this is doing nothing but working my faith muscles even more.  I will come out of this stronger, wiser, and more assured than ever that you’ve always got your eyes on me, you want the best for me, and that you have already seen ahead and made provision for each situation that I shall face.  All the glory goes to you as I walk through the storm with my head held high knowing that this, too, shall pass… and that I have the opportunity to represent you as I walk confidently proclaiming that my God’s got me!”
Speak the Word Only
Be real!  But be real about your dependence of the Word of God to get you through what you are dealing with.  Be real about the fact that you need the Word in the midst of the situation to keep your mind from going “tilt” on the journey.  Be real about the fact that God knows what you don’t know so the best thing for you is to find out what He says and begin to repeat it, confess it, declare it, and expect it to come to pass as outlined in His Word.  You ask people to pray, but… what WORD are you standing on?  What scripture is speaking life into the situation?  What promise are you using to reassure yourself that all is well?  What story or passage brings you hope and peace?
Other situations will arise but they are mere distractions to pull you off your post and to get you to begin to see, itemize, and verbalize all of the things that are going wrong, that aren’t right, that are messing with your plans. None of this is a surprise to God… and you should acknowledge that to Him.  Maybe you will say something like this:
“God, this is really a jacked up situation, but you already knew I’d be here dealing with all of this stuff. I know you love me and want the best for me. So I’m not going to allow the enemy to cause discouragement, despair, and depression to set up camp in my mind.
Fight your way to the finish line!  Quitting is not an option.  Is there anything too hard for God?  Nothing is impossible with God!  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.  God’s plans for you are for a good and expected end.  Fight! Arm yourself with the Word and start swinging.  Change your mind… renew your mind… get your mind lined up with the Word and keep on stepping!
Blessings to you all!
